I'm a photographer that uses more than one camera when on safaris.
At the start of each safari, I set all my cameras to the same date and time.
When I get home, I put all the photos I took for that safari into the same folder. The different cameras use various naming defaults for photo names.
I've tried sorting file names by "date taken #1" and "creation time #2" but that doesn't work.
How do I sort the files in my folder by "date" (day of the year-not including time) and then "time taken" (time not including the date)?
Thanks for your help and time (no pun intended).
JP
Sorting by date taken on its own should be enough, unless the cameras each had a different and wrong date set on them.
If the dates are wrong then it should be possible to correct them if the filenames or camera model property gives an easy way to select images by camera.
Leo,
Thank you for your help and time but sorting by date doesn't work.
I took 929 photos on 7/9/2021. When I sort by "date taken", they are indeed sorted by day, but not by time.
I've attached two screen shots of my Directory Opus windows. You can see two different photos taken during the same minute but show in the Opus list six pages apart. You can tell that by looking at the window position vertical indicator (highlighted in red).
I'm so sorry to bother you, but, anymore suggestions?
Jerry
Leo,
Stop the presses! I just noticed and issue.
One photo shows the times taken as AM. The other shows it as PM.
Oops!
As usual, it was my fault. Please disregard this and the previous email.
