If I set DOpus as an explorer replacement, can , on a folder-specific basis, define certai views for certain folders?
For instance, if I want My Computer to be a single pane with large icons, and yet all others to have a double-pane with the tree on one side and lists on the other? Possible? If so,, where/how do I do that?
You can do that easily. Just set up the views foor each folder as you´d like to have it & then save it in the settings -> folder options -> "save" -> "for this folder" (or also the subfolders, depends). Then you can save your changes in settings -> lister layouts. Note, that you have to save it as the default lister.
Individual folders can have specific folder formats, but they cannot affect what is/isn't shown in the rest of the window outside of the folder display.
That's what layouts and styles are for, but you cannot trigger a layout/style just by opening a particular folder. You have to explicitly open that layout/style.
A layout/style can go to a specific folder, though. So you could have an icon which opens Opus in single-pane mode and shows you My Computer. It just can't be the actual My Computer icon on your desktop (unless you want that setup to be the default for all folders). Of course, you could hide the My Computer icon on your desktop and replace it with something which opens an Opus layout.
In order to have your changes included as the default, you have to save it as default, otherwise your old settings will be applied. In other words, your completely new customized settings will then be the new default. It is better, anyway, if you save your old settings (settings -> export) before you make a lot of changes, that way you always can go back to your starting point.

Leo, abr:
I think I get what you are saying.
So if I wanted a specific folder -- say My COmputer...that's an easy one -- to open witha particular layout/lister, is it command-line params the would call a certain folder, thereby triggering a certain layout?
