Start filtering when you start typing

Is there any option that will start "filtering" instead of "find" when you start typing in the lister? I want to avoid typing Shift and * every time to go the filter mode instead of the find mode.

If you add the File Filter Field to a toolbar and give it the argument realtime, you can filter your display as you type in that box.

Thanks that is useful. I would still like to start typing directly when the focus is on the list of files and have it filter the items that match what I type. Is that possible?

I don't think it is at the moment, without typing * (or some other hotkey) to prevent the default Find-As-You-Type mode happening instead.

Thanks. This is available in TC and is a useful option. It would be great enhancement.

You should send GPSoftware a feature request if it's something you want to see changed.
