Startup timing

I have been having a little problem with DOpus in that when I first access Opus after a boot, the Opus listers display but do not populate.
After boot I started Task Manager as soon as the desktop appeared. I could clearly see that when opus.exe started before Explorer.exe the listers do not populate which is more often than I would expect I solved the problem bu delaying the start of opus.exe by 20sec using the delayed start part of WinPatrol. Problem solved.
I therefore suggest something like dopust.exe have an option to have an adjustable timer that delays the start of dopus.exe '.til after Explorer has started.
Just a thought.

If you configure Opus not to autostart, then drag a shortcut to dopus.exe into the Start Menu -> Programs -> Startup folder, does that make things okay or do you still find it goes wrong sometimes?

Thanks Leo, I'll give it a try.
Looking in Task Manager during Windows startup, with my computer system, opus seems to beat explorer a bit more than half the time. On every startup I have monitored it is either explorer then opus, or vice versa, in quick sequence with no other file starting in between.

I gave it a try and with 6 restarts it started correctly each time.
Interesting, why did you suggest this Leo?

I think Explorer handles the startup folder, so running stuff from that should mean those things always get launched after Explorer.

Not sure if there are any downsides to using it but perhaps Opus should switch to creating a shortcut in there instead of using the "Run" setting in the registry.

I'll switch to using that method as well for a while and see if there are any drawbacks.

I have since done some more starts and cold boots and all is well. Great job Leo - quick and knowledgeable.

Many thanks
Geoff
