Suggestion: One-click backup

As a new user of DO, I do a lot of reconfiguring of the product, so I reset my default lister (already a one-click task) a lot, but also backup my entire DO configuration a lot. It would be extremely nice to have the backup designed such that it could do its thing in one click (can I script this?), according to predefined user-specified options (few). I already have the backup button on a toolbar, but that just launches the non-streamlined process. The entire process is as follows:

  1. Click backup toolbar button.
  2. Click 'Backup configuration' radio button.
  3. Click 'Next'.
  4. Click 'Next'.
  5. Click 'Yes' to replace already existing backup (pop dialog).
  6. Click 'Next'.
  7. Click 'Next'.
  8. Click 'Next'.
  9. Click 'Finish'.

Wow, I sure am thirsty after all that clicking. I think I'll go have a beer!

Have a look at the Prefs BACKUP command.

Yes, that was perfect, thanks. I simply (and I do mean simply) added a new button to the toolbar, edited it in advanced mode, entering the command and the location of the backup. Voila! Single-click backup!

Just noting, there was no need to use the 'Advanced...' button, for one can simply put the command in the initial button edit dialog in the 'Function' edit box. From that initial dialog, one can do a lot of things, including selecting an appropriate icon from those provided by DO, and many other things. Really nice.
