I make extensive use of GO commands to access folders. My default "none" preference is NEWTAB=findexisting and I have a preferred set of key modifiers as shown below.
Go /mydocuments KEYARGS "none:NEWTAB=findexisting" "ctrl:NEWTAB=findexisting OPENINDUAL" "ctrlalt:NEWTAB OPENINDUAL" "shift:NEW" "alt:NEWTAB"
Since I always use the same set of modifiers, it would be handy (and a lot less typing) to associate these with USEQUALKEYS.
Go /mydocuments USEQUALKEYS
How about an option in PREFS to allow the user to define default USEQUALKEYS actions for none:, alt:, ctrl:, etc..
Defining a user command provides a way to customise Go commands but it does not address click, ctrl-click, alt-click, etc. on path elements in the address field or lister header, or doubleclick, ctrl-doubleclick, alt-doubleclick on folders within a lister. There is currently no way(that I know of) to customise these.
I'd like to have user configurable default actions in Prefs, same as the options that are currently provided for determining what happens with mouse clicks in the folder tree. I could then simply use the USEQUALKEYS options with the built-in Go command, without the need for a user command and I would have consistent behaviour no matter how I triggered the "Go".
There are so many ways of configuring Opus that it's easy to overlook/forget how to do something. I'm now maintaining a change library with a record of the how and why of each tweak that I make.
