It depends on them having some sort of API we could easily hook into; when I looked at TortoiseGit previously it didn't seem to. Not sure about Hg.

Of course, makes sense - you'd have thought that all the Tortoise* products would have /something/ in common!

They do! It's the first 8 characters of their name. That and something-something code and something-something versioning.
