Feature Request.
This is been a native global systemwide macOS feature for 30+ years.
Windows has the legacy ‘Mouse Control Panel’, in the ‘Pointer Options’ Tab is a setting:
Hide pointer while typing
According to gooners at M$, it’s not system wide so it’s up to application developers to provide support. FWIW hardly any of M$’s own apps support it either, but Notepad is one of the few examples of an app that does respond to this setting.
What it’s supposed to do, for one example, is, when clicking into the text area of a filename, to change the text, to start typing etc, a flashing cursor ‘I’ is supposed to appear, replacing the Pointer.
In Windows, what actually happens is Arrow pointer turns into an I beam pointer, then a flashing ‘I’ cursor appears but the ‘I’ beam pointer is still visible and it masks some of the characters under it.
I’ve tried several utilities over the years and they all have bizzaro behaviour.
Any chance devs can look into this and provide a native solution for Directory Opus?
