Suppress the tooltip for the Go Up button on the location bar?

This could perhaps just as well be asked in the general Help and Support section because Opus 12 seems to behave the same way. I'm asking here om case the answer is different for Opus 13.

Is it possible to suppress only the tooltip for the Go Up button on the location bar?

I use it all the time and find it mildly annoying. I'm not sure why it never bothered on Opus 12.

I know I can turn off all Toolbar tooltips at

but am not sure I want to go that far.

You can edit the button and remove the tooltip altogether if you want.

You can edit the button but do not remove the tooltip altogether. Instead, leave at least one blank space in the description. If the description is blank, it will still display "Go to Go Up" underneath Go Up.

I would have thought so, but I don't seem to be able to figure out how to open a Command Editor with a Tip field.

It's the Description field shown in your screenshot.

I thought perhaps that might be the case, but if I make that field blank, I still get a tooltip.

I don't think you can clear it completely, as parts of the tooltip are added automatically, even if the description is blank or a space. The description is added to the tooltip, but not the only thing in it.

I think you can only turn off toolbar tooltips entirely to get rid of it at the moment.

OK, thanks for confirming what I'm seeing I'm not going to call it a Solution, but it's an Explanation.

Please refer to my comment in item 2 of this thread. At least for me in DO13, at least a single space in the description field blanks the description and you see only "Go Up." Perhaps, this closer, if not precisely, what the OP wanted.

Yes it does that which doesn't seem surprising. Seems to me that you've redefined the tip to consist of one blank which is invisible.

Yes, depending on the folders involved the width of the tip can be less.

Not worthwhile for me.
