my setup is as shown below in the screen shot. I have defined folder formats which hide certain files and folders. These are mainly folders/files which I don't want to mess around or are unimportant but recreated by their programs if I delete them. This is why I hide them. But sometimes I want to see all files/folders to see what I have hidden. So I open the formats dialog and unhide them by deselecting the check box and back on when I am finished. As this is very cumbersome I would like to know if their is an easier way via button or similar.
If it's always the same file and folder filters then just make a button which sets them. It will automatically act as a toggle.
e.g.
Set HIDEFILTERFILENAME="(boot.ini|IO.SYS|...)"
Set HIDEFILTERFOLDERS="(Recycler|System Vol...)"
Though it looks a lot like you're just hiding the system files & folders, in which case hiding via the System file attribute (and/or the command to toggle visibility of Hidden+System files) may make more sense and avoid having to list every unwanted file/folder by name.
Unfortunately I have quite some folder formats for folders I visit often nad do not want to clutter with useless information. So I am hiding different files and folders.
Seems so, but the rest of the list which is not shown on the screen shot is quite long. Actually, I have disabled the option you mentioned for I do want to see all files and folders and hide only those I know there useless. But that's my philosophy.
So assume there is currently no option just to toggle the checkbox itself?
