Hello everyone!
Shooting in the dark here, but is there a connection between performing a Sync (in the Sync panel) and System Restore?
I did a Sync yesterday (Vista 64 Home Premium SP2 laptop).
Later that day, the computer crashed repeatedly.
Tried a good old System Restore, but... All the system restore points were gone... and in fact, my disk space had jumped up by 40GB (the size allocated to Volume Shadow Copy).
Looking for answers in all directions. The reason I wonder about a Sync connection is that when I run
vssadmin list writers
it says that "System Writer" is waiting for completion. Could it be hanging for something that DO started on?
The exact output from that command is below. Many thanks for any insights. Just wanting to check if it might be DO-related, in which case maybe there's a way to check on that.
