System cannot find the specified path

"An error occurred reading folder: The system cannot find the path specified - Retry | Parent | Abort"

I've been getting this error in DOpus since yesterday when trying to access certain folders on C:. I thought I'd try a HomeGroup and see if I like it. The HomeGroup was created on a 2nd computer and then the computer running DOpus v12 tried to join the HomeGroup. But that failed due to "network problems" that MS couldn't troubleshoot. Well I decided not to bother and deleted the HomeGroup.

No problems with access in File Explorer. But DOpus gives the error but not with all folders. Problems occur when diving into SOME areas inside folders like...
Program Files,
Program Files (x86),
ProgramData,
c:\users....\AppData\Local & Roaming

For instance, I can get to ...\Roaming\GPSoftware but not into ...\Roaming\GPSoftware\Directory Opus.
I can get to ...\Pictures\iWallpaper but not ...\Pictures\iMark (3)
But then I can get into all kinds of folders in ...\Roaming\Thunderbird until I hit some obscure folder deep inside it.
And so far no problems inside c:\Windows or c:\AMD or hard drives other than C:.

I've disabled Services - HomeGroup Listener & HomeGroup Provider. I've read through lots of posts regarding HomeGroup but didn't see this. Things were fine until about the time I tried HomeGroup or at least that's what I'm thinking. I did a fresh Win10 install 4-5 days ago.

Please tell me it's just a misaligned setting. I'll never touch HomeGroup again. Thanks for any help and it is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Could you post a screenshot of the whole Opus window + error message while the error message is being displayed? That might reveal some detail that could be important.

Here's the screenshot. Thank you very much.

forgot to mention I was attempting to open c:\users....\AppData\Roaming\GPSoftware\Directory Opus folder.

Try turning off the script you're using to change the folder tab labels. Does that fix it?

You beat me to it. I just tried doing just that and the weird behavior stopped. Still tweaking the script. Should have known better to suspect it. Sorry to bother.

impressive troubleshooting!!!!

Sorry to revive an ancient thread - But I'm having the same problem and error. The only difference is - when I try to open 'Downloads' from the left - I get this same error.

The folder opens fine on explorer without issues. It appears to try and open the downloads folder an an old existing location (downloads used to reside on C drive - it now resides on my D drive within OneDrive. As I mentioned before - it works fine on explorer. The exact error is -

C:\Users\gregb\Downloads is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you’re connected to the network or Internet, and then try again. If the location still can’t be found, it might have been moved or deleted.

How do I fix this?

I have also turned off all plugins - same issue.

That seems to answer itself? If the directory isn't on the C drive then accessing it via a path on the C drive shouldn't work, unless there's a symlink there or something?
