System Tray Icon Visibility Issue in Recent Versions

The system tray icon has been intermittently appearing and disappearing in recent versions. It is known that others are experiencing this issue as well, but the specific trigger is unknown.

Manually hiding and then re-enabling the system tray icon display will cause the icon to actively appear.

Isn’t that just Windows hiding the icon automatically if it isn’t configured to always be shown?

Which other people do you mean? I’m not aware of any other reports.

When the icon is configured, it appears inconsistently—sometimes it shows, sometimes it doesn’t. It means that within our Chinese community, there are others who are experiencing the same issue.

Did you see clearly what my GIF showed? The tray icon has always been permanently open. I had to reopen it to make the icon display properly.

I haven't noticed that issue myself. Nothing's changed with how the tray icon is handled for many years.

I see what you mean, now that I'm on a larger screen and can download the gif and view it in something that lets me seek back and forth in it.

Are you using a custom taskbar replacement? It doesn't look like the normal Windows taskbar.

I've been using StartAllBack and other software hasn't had this problem.

Have you tested if it happens with the standard taskbar?

That will tell us if the cause is likely to be something unusual in your Opus config (e.g. scripts using notification icons might trigger a bug in our code that not many people have seen, perhaps) or in StartAllBack (in which case it should be reported to them).

Whatever you are seeing is not something seen by everyone else, or we'd have lots of other threads about it.

"I never use the default taskbar in Windows 11, so I'm not sure if this problem exists."

Maybe try it and let us know.

"Okay, I will uninstall it and use it for a while. If I have any results, I will reply to you."

I didn't expect it to be detected so quickly. I encountered this bug even when using the system defaults, so it's definitely not caused by StartAllBack.

The video shows that my tray icon option is enabled, but it is not visible.

And my Directory Opus has no scripts enabled.

I'm not sure what is happening in that case. Something must be removing the icon for some reason.

If other people on a Chinese forum are seeing the same thing, it might be worth comparing which software is installed to see if there's a common tool that might be involved. We don't have any similar reports here to compare against.
