Tab loses configuration

Hi.

I see the following thing happening.
I open a group of tabs. I click on one of the tabs, and it displays the colums correctly. Then I open a directory on this tab. When this directory has a diffirent colums configuration it is incorporated into the tab view. Pressing the tab again, shows the correct lister, but with the colums of the directory chosen. It does not show the colums as set in the tab settings.

You might check to see how your folder formats and content type formats are configured in preferences as they can override other settings (such as those made in a style).

One option is to use Styles instead of Folder Tab Groups to get a tabbed list of folders. You can edit Styles and turn on the Format Lock option. That means that the Style's format will be locked after it is applied and the format won't change when you go to other folders, even if those folders have different formats defined for them. The Style can also define a directory, so they can work a lot like locked folder tabs.

To add to what John said, Styles are only applied when they are selected. After that Opus ignores the style so when you change folders you might end up with a new folder format, if that folder has one defined.

See the folder formats FAQ linked in my signature.

It might be worth asking GPSoft if they'd consider adding the Format Lock option to folder tabs and folder tab groups.
