I'm not sure Windows supports custom folder icons on network drives:
Although it looks like it used to, at least:
Windows Explorer does not support Tab, and we really can't confirm if it supports network drive icons.
I did this, so Opus can display the local folder icon.
My network drive is on another computer in the LAN, and I set the folder icon on that computer. Opus can display the folder icon normally, but when I double-click to enter the folder, the folder icon will not be displayed on the Tab, only the general folder icon will be displayed.
There is no issue with the local folder icon.
I remembered, once or twice, the Tab did show the folder icons in the network drive, but I didn't do anything, then the icons disappeared and never showed up. This at least indicates that the Tab can display the folder icons in the network drive, but it is unstable.
I see what you mean.
We'll add an option for this (probably Preferences / Miscellaneous / Advanced [Cosmetic]: custom_network_folder_icons) in a future update.
I think it should stay as-is by default as looking up custom icons for network folder tabs could cause problems if the tabs point to machines which aren't available, and custom icons on network folders are something you have to go out of your way to create, but it's something you'll be able to turn on if you want to.
I understand that there is an unknown risk to doing so. But if I can confirm that the network is unobstructed, the folder work is normal, and I need to quickly find the directory I need in many directories, I can choose to open it.
The option is off by default, and the user can open it by himself, which should be the best choice.
Thanks for your extraordinary work, Opus will get better and better.
