The word penny does cause a little confusion, but I am referring to decimal currency.
I have found that Australia stopped making one cent coins in 1992 and Canada did so in 2012.
I still have three large jars of pennies on a closet shelf. I collected them years ago before electronic transactions were more convenient. The jars are very heavy and could contain a few older coins.
I have never attempted to cash them at a bank.
