When I type the first letter of a command, a command prompt pops up.
When I type the second letter (it's not defined) it doesn't pop up, which is normal.
When I delete the second letter and only the first letter remains, there is no command prompt, which is not normal.
You can push Ctrl+Space to make the suggestions appear again for the characters left of the cursor.
