Hello..
I use a horizontal dual view (and dual trees).
I wonder, is there a way to get the tabs for the upper view to be at the top, and the tabs for the bottom view to be at the bottom?
"Display tabs at the top and bottom in dual/horizontal mode" option is the exact opposite of what I ask for (as that collects all tabs in the middle, not at opposite sides).
The reason I ask is because I've got lots of drives (and always quite a few tabs open), and whenever I drag some files from the top to the bottom
view (or opposite), and when the tab I need to move it across belongs to a idle/sleeping drive then DO stops for awhile until that drive spins up (about 5-10 seconds).
It does this even though I never stop over that tab, and I'm over that tab only a fraction of a second (the drop is visible just above the tab until it has spun up).
Having the option to make the space between top/bottom view tabless would've cured this issue, alternatively that it's a small delay when moving over a tab
until DO starts to try doing anything with the tab, aka drive/folder it contains (as it's not the active tab).
Currently it seems DO tries to do something with the tab and the drive it belongs to instantly.
Actually, the wording for that option suggest that it should do exactly what I'm asking for, but
it's current behaviour should've been named "Display tabs at the bottom and top in dual/horizontal mode" as
that's what it actually does.
If the drives have gone to sleep, do you need to keep the tabs open at all? Using toolbar or menu items to go to common folders that you aren't using right now might be a way to avoid the problem, and also reduce the number of tabs you have to work with so it's easier to concentrate on the folders you are using, while still having quick access to the other folders when you need them.
Yeah, I sort of need them.. they're almost never the same folders, but most stay open for days/weeks.
I usually have 5-7 tabs open in both the upper and the lower view.
I already use menu/toolbar for the most commonly used folders.
If they weren't ever changing, then menu/toolbar would've been an option for the rest too but..
May I suggest to add this option, or eventually insert a small delay when moving files across (and not stopping) the tabs.
