Why is the TortoiseSVN often bound to lister in an undesirable way? For example if I select a folder and use the Export feature of the TortoiseSVN and close the lister while the Export operation is running the operation will be "user cancelled". Another example would be when TortoiseSVN asks for a repository password (upon SVN Update or Checkout) it will be modal to the lister so I can't interact with that lister until password is entered or dialog dismissed.
Does the same thing happen in Explorer?
No, it doesn't happen in Explorer (the Exporting, didn't test the password) when the Explorer window used to execute it is closed, the operation remains running normally.
That seems like something that would be up to TortoiseSVN.
