Turn Off Get Sizes

For some reason Dopus gets the sizes for folders even though I have it turned off.

Is it because the column “size (auto)” means it will always get the size? I thought it meant the size measurement will be reasonable for the size (kb/mb etc.) ?

I have Everything running and Dopus is still manually calculating the folder sizes for some reason. Something has changed where it’s not taking the sizes from the Everything index.

Is there a way to tell Dopus that “Get sizes from Everything but if it’s not running then do not calculate folder sizes ever (files are fine) except when commanded to, with the “get sizes” button etc.” ?

You've cropped your screenshot so much that we can't see all relevant options.

  • Is the option to "Use Everything to calculate folder sizes where possible" on?
  • Are any folders listed in the per-folder list on that page?

Having any of the file count columns added to the Lister will also trigger folder size calculation.

Why is Dopus calculating folder sizes? I don’t want it to. Either Everything has the index to pass to Dopus or just leave the column blank. (Or in the rare circumstance I do need sizes I have a button for it)

As I said, if you have any of the file or folder count columns added it will also calculate the folder size.

Could it not do that? If it fails to fetch from Everything then do nothing, leave it blank.
Maybe I could do a custom column for this?

What would be the point? The work to calculate the file and folder count is the same as the work to calculate the folder size.
