Typing relative path in Location Bar

In all file mangers I've ever used, if I select the address/location bar and type the name of a sub-directory and press enter, the file manager will navigate into that directory underneath the current directory. In Directory Opus, it instead appends the sub-directory I type to 'C:\Program Files\GPSoftware\Directory Opus', which of course fails because that sub-directory doesn't exist there. This behavior doesn't make any sense.

For example, lets say the Location Bar points to c:\temp, and there's a sub-directory name 'sub' under that directory, the full absolute path to which is c:\temp\sub. If the Location Bar is currently pointing to c:\temp, I should be able to click in the Location Bar (which selects the absolute path text) and type 'sub' over it and have Opus navigate to c:\temp\sub, like every other file manager does including the built-in WIndows file manager. Instead, Opus attempts to navigate to ''C:\Program Files\GPSoftware\Directory Opus\sub'.

Is there an existing option/setting to have the behavior match other file managers?

Hit End or Right before typing, or click on > and select a folder from the dropdown list without typing at all.

Thanks. Those workarounds are understood - I'm looking though to correct the behavior so that it matches every other file manager.

If you just want a folder below the current location using the keyboard, there's usually no need to activate the location bar at all. Just type the name into the file display and it'll be highlighted (usually after the first few letters), then push return.

Thanks Leo, that's another great workaround. Muscle memory being what it is it would be great if Opus also supported typing relative paths into the Location Bar. I can't imagine any existing users want or rely on the current behavior of having their typed path be relative to Opus's installation directory, so making this change to Opus shouldn't have any negative user impact.
