Unable to set default program on Windows 10

In Explorer on Windows 10, right clicking a file, hovering over Open With and then selecting Choose another app produces a list of programs followed by a check box for Always use this app ....

In Opus, right clicking a file, hovering over Open With and then selecting Choose Default Program produces a list of programs, but the Always use this ... check box is missing.

That was an intentional (and quite inexplicable) change on Microsoft's part. They removed the option from the Open With API entirely.

We have a workaround coming in the next update. it just missed 11.16 but has already been written.

We've released 11.16.1 (beta) which returns the ability to choose a default.

Confirmed that this works.

Could anyone explain why DO and Explorer still asks for default app although the app is already set to standard? E.g. Word is set to standard for all extensions (doc, docx, dot,...), but I get the choose-default-popup as long as I don't activate "set to standard" in the popup.

Confirmed that this works.[/quote]
I now have Opus 11.17.2 and Windows 10 Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.104) and I just noticed that this doesn't work again.

I have no idea what combination of Opus and Win 10 updates since my last post caused reversion to the previously described behavior.

Confirmed. Thanks for reporting it again. It looks like Microsoft broke the previous fix.

I've just looked into it and found a workaround, which will be included in the next update.
