Update fails on corporate laptop with ShellExecuteEx error 67

Hi,
unfortunately, the update from 13.13 to 13.16 fails with a small error window popping up saying "ShellExecuteEx failes; Code67. The network name was not found".
I also tried using a hotspot from my mobile.

Anything I can do?

Can you get the installer via https://www.gpsoft.com.au/download?

yes, tried that and et the abovementioned error

If you’re running it from a network drive, try copying it to a local folder.

If you still get the error there, it’s probably somethIng blocking the installer from running, and you may need to ask your IT support to allow it through.

Tried from c:temp, didnt work, Admin doesnt support as it isn't standard
... too bad :frowning:

Was a great time, will stick to 13.13 for the time being, then

Does running the older installer still work? AFAIK the way the installer works shouldn’t be different between 13.13 and 13.16.

Good point.
yes, that works.

I tried the 13.13 installer and came to the license agreement.

Just to make sure - "yes that works" didn't solve my problem

The older installer works. The newer one still doesn't - why should it  .

There's not really much we can do; you'll need to work out what's blocking it at your end.

Too bad. I was hoping that for the next release, you could adapt the installer to work like the 13.13 one.

Thanks for the feedback!

The installer hasn't changed at all.

And still they behave differently

Not for anyone else

Just a thought if you have security software blocking installing certain software then it could be your IT who have blocked installation. Reason they have allowed 13.13 version is easy they have approved that version. Easy each new installation or program has its own footprint that your IT software detects. Basically your IT department need to approve and install the new version. What antivirus and firewall are you using. Is this a works PC or a Home PC. The error message is basically saying you either don't have access to that folder or it is not avaliable.
