Not sure if you're aware of this:
Update info always shows that my version is current, even when there is a more current version available than the version I have installed.
It's not bothering me, but maybe you don't know about this?
Thanks.

This is on purpose and happens every update. Maybe we need a flashing box around the note but I think we would still get one or two threads about it each update...
Hehe, sorry Without that info it really looks confusing.

If it happens every update you have to wonder if there isn't something to improve.
The (flashing) note in not in the News and Updates box in DO itself, only on the website.
It's confusing when a new version is in the list but I'm told the used version is current.
If the new version is mentioned in the list why not synchronize the message above to There is a newer version?
If that's not possible, why not just display a message like the one from the website in the dialog box. Saves you a lot of questions like and it's more clear to the users.
If you can think of a good way to word a short status message for the dialog, we are open to suggestions.
It needs to convey "There is a newer version but it's so new it isn't pushed the the auto-updater yet, so you can get it now manually, or wait".
If you click the line about the new version to read about it, the information is there in verbose form now, which is new, but if no one is going to read that then a short message may make sense, if someone can think of one.
Or we could not add things to the list it shows until they are on the auto updater, but then people see them on the forum or twitter and complain they couldn't get to the new version via the checker.
If it really has to be short something like "Your version is auto-updated soon.". But there are certainly better suggestions.
But with your line "There is a newer version but it's so new it isn't pushed the the auto-updater yet, so you can get it now manually, or wait" things are already much clearer.
So a short message and a one-line explanation and you're done IMO.
Your version will auto-update soon is a good suggestion, maybe we can go with that.
I don't think a longer second line is needed, as the info is in the page about the new version, and there's nowhere in the auto-update UI to put a longer explanation, which nobody would read anyway.
(As always, anything we do will not take effect until two updates later, of course. Always the problem with updating the auto-updater. )
