Opus 9 is awesome! I've been using it for a month now!
Here is a suggestion for a small improvement or maybe someone has a work-around that I've been unable to find.
In MS Word & other programs there is a way of changing formating and then updating a saved format/style based on the current format.
In Opus this would be changing the current folder format - and then clicking a list button to update the chosen format (e.g. documents, movies, music) based on the current folder. Basically the opposite to the command ...
CONTENTFORMAT/K Set the current Lister to use the named content type format
This would make it so much faster to change saved content/favorite formats. Or have this as an option in the Folder Options dialog box.
This seems an obvious missing feature that maybe I've missed how to do this and someone can help.
I can answer that ... Under Preferences, go to Folders, Folder Formats, and you'll find one for 'Favorites'. You can create folder formats and apply them anywhere. Really nice.
I use the header context menu, also, to set columns very quickly, from presets. That is a convenient method. There are so many music columns I look at, I can swap them around.
It seems I'm asking the opposite of your answer - How to update my presets (Favorite Formats, Content Type Formats) based on the current folder format. Maybe it can be a future feature. Is there a place to post suggestions?
Have you looked at using styles? They have some overlapping capabilities with folder formats and they can be updated to the current settings if you right click over the styles toolbar and choose "update".
