Could someone clarify why upgrade gives 2 years of updates while purchasing NEW license gives only 1? I've been testing dopus 12 for the past 3 months and was waiting for dopus 13 to be released in order to buy it... I could buy 12 earlier, knowing that upgrading will give 2 years over 1...
That's very limited time promotion for current V12 users to encourage them to upgrade and who PAY for an upgrade. Normal purchasers get one year of upgardes.
V13 was just released today. There are a couple of anomalies in the system which will be rectified in the coming days.
"As with previous major updates, the upgrade price is discounted at a rate based on your previous version (and free for those who bought recently)."
This part is confusing. For example if I've purchased V12 one month ago, I would have a free upgrade with 2 yrs of support... But purchasing new today will provide me with only 1...
I specifically waited for new version, since you announced that you will reintroduce your plans. But it just seems relatively unfair to new users. Thats all.
On the flip side, you could say that someone who paid for Opus 7 years ago might be annoyed they don't get a better deal than someone who bought yesterday.
These things are always arbitrary to some extent, you'll never please everyone unless you give it away for free (and probably not even then )
But aren't you providing recalculated price for older users? It's just weird that FREE upgrades provide 2 yrs over 1. If I knew that, I would have bought it 2 months ago...
