Recently I cloned my drive. When I booted from the new drive to verify it is usable, I got the message that my Opus registration had expired. I tried to re-install my certificate, the new message said that my license had expired.
I am back on my original drive now and everything is as it should be.If I need to go to the backup drive, this will be a problem.
GPSoftware support are the best people to contact if you have a problem like this and need to resolve it.
What tool did you use to image the drive?
I've used and restored image-based backups using the Windows 7 backup tool, Norton Ghost and (although not for a few years) Acronis True Image and I've never run into the problem you had, FWIW. That includes when moving to a new physical drive.
Just a thought: If you get a message saying your licence has expired you probably found the wrong licence file and tried to install an old evaluation licence rather than the proper licence you bought after evaluating.
At least, as far as I know, the only types of licences which expire are the free evaluation/review licences and the built-in "stock" licence you get with a fresh install.
I don't think this was an old license since the drive is a clone of my current drive which is working properly. On top of that, I don't think I ever had an eval license.
I used Casper to clone the disk. By the way, the message I got that told me my certificate had expired had a code of (20017).
After my next periodic cloning I will check it again and if I still get the error message I will contact GPSoftware support.
