Using a lister to see a Mobile Device

Depends on the type of device, how it presents itself to the OS and/or Explorer, and how you access it in Explorer.
Stick some details about the device in a new thread (since this isn't specific to Opus 9) and we'll try to work out why it isn't appearing for you.[/quote]

I have a Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC (specifically a Cingular 8125/HTC Wizard 100). When I connect it to my USB, it shows up under my drives and I can access folders there just as if it were a normal drive. Here is what is looks like:

I'd love to be able to access this in DO and/or assign a favorites folder to its contents.

Tekguru's our resident Windows Mobile Device expert. I've sent him a PM to see if he can help. I've never used Windows Mobile myself.

Using DO8 there were occasional problems, and even with DO9 (which I've been proud to beta), but the issues are down the the speed of the devices, or so it appears.

For me listers can fail to open if browsing below the top level files as the device is too slow to send the file data back to Vista / DO9.

DO9 does however allow the device to be opened in a Lister without any issues.

I guess I'll wait another 48 hours and see what happens...

You can open a My Computer drive IIRC by clicking once, right click and select open.

I hate having to switch from DO to something else whenever I need to copy something to or from my PPC. Since it is new, I'm copying a lot of software to it on a daily basis to try different programs.

Let's wait until you have a Vista compatible version of Opus eh?

Works wonderfully in DO9. Well worth the wait....
