I have submitted several crash reports via the inbuilt crash reporter but have had no response. It has been happening sporadically for a few months now.
I've just been notified that my subscription has expired so where does that leave me?

Do you know the crash report IDs?
No, sorry - they aren't shown (or I can't find where the info maybe stored)
Just submitted another following a crash earlier
ID 724
Those crashes look like they are caused by something external to Opus which are either hooking our windows or creating extra controls (e.g. to add things to our window titlebars titlebars), and then unloading their DLL while the hook/window still exists. When the hook/window is used it crashes as the DLL code is no longer in memory.
It's likely tied to the Intel Optane software. If you search the web for iastorpinningcomponent crash, the same component is causing crashes in a lot of other software as well: https://www.google.com/search?q=iastorpinningcomponent+crash
I recommend updating the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) driver.
According to what I found during a quick search, Optane has been withdrawn
I have uninstalled it, lets see what happens
Thanks for the quick response
Just curious. Why would they mess with other processes and create controls inside them?
You would have to ask them. ![]()
Crashes have started again - the one yesterday id no. 732
another just now: 733
it it helps I am viewing files on a NAS drive
It looks like you've reinstalled Optane? The DLLs mentioned above are still shown as being loaded in the process in the latest crash report you sent.
I haven't and I don't see it running in task manager - does it go by a different name?
