Very Frustrated with the Themes Editing

First off, I want to say what an awesome development this version 13 is!! I totally love it!! An amazing piece of work!! :medal_military: :1st_place_medal:

When I upgraded last week, I dove straight into making themes. All of the control we now have in making themes is fantastic!! :trophy:

But after a while I started noticing that my changes were not being saved. Often, after Saving everything, I would re-Apply my Theme only to see that the work I've Saved for the past half hour, or hour had not really been saved to the theme. I noticed when I went to the Theme settings, that the Theme that I was working on was no longer selected. None of them were selected. But I had the theme selected when I started? Did it lose track of which theme it was saving??

Maybe there is something that I am not understanding in the Theme building process...?

If I select and apply a Theme, and then start to make color changes, is the theme that I selected the one that it is saving to?? It seems obvious, but I want to be sure..

Or, How do I know which theme I am working on??

It would be nice if the status bar would put a 10 second message saying 'Changed Save to Theme XXXX'

Is there something that I do that automatically de-selects the theme that I am working on? Maybe make changes to other settings other than color?

You'd have to update your theme to save a new version of it. Just changing the colors in Opus won't change any themes; only the active colors.

In the Preferences theme UI, select a theme, then click Edit, then Update Content to overwrite the theme's colors etc. with the current ones and save a new version of the theme.

When applying a theme, a backup of your current colors is made by default (unless that has been turned off), so you should still have them in the backups part of the themes list.

Thanks for the reply. I see what you are saying.

Then, when I change a color, it happens immediately in real-time. And the Save button at the bottom of the Preferences is enabled. I had assumed that the Save button saved to the Theme.

The Save/Apply button in Preferences just saves/applies the current Preferences settings.

Loading a theme loads its colors (etc.) over your current Preferences settings.

Saving/updating a theme saves the current Preferences colors (etc.) into the theme, but there's no connection between Preferences and the theme file after that. Any further changes you make to colors won't affect the theme unless it's explicitly updated.
