On Windows side, there's a bug where Windows does not generate thumbnails properly for symlinked network shares. However, I still could get thumbnails using video plugin on DOpus 12.
I upgraded DOpus to 13 yesterday, and found out video thumbnails are not generated. It's all just file icons. I tried to empty DOpus thumbnail cache, and configure video plugin but no luck.
How can I generate video thumbnails with DOpus 13?
Do the same files work if they're on a local drive or normal network drive?
Yes, accessing through normal network path or local path works fine, even with same file.
What are the steps to setup a symlinked network share that triggers the issue?
Opus uses the Windows shell to make video thumbnails, so it's likely the same issue as in File Explorer, but we might be able to send it the filepaths differently to make them work.
I just created "mklink /d" to make symlink.
When I'm using DOpus 12, it initially didn't generate thumbnails like this, but when I enabled video plugin and install LAVFilter, it just generated thumbnails. I guess this was not intended behavior?
edit: "/d" is correct, not "/j".
What are the symlinks from/to?
Local drives to mapped drive letters? Or UNC paths? Or something else?
Local drive to network share path. Like
D:/video to //sharename/video.
