VirtualDub video conversion

Hi!

It's my first post here and my english is too bad to write this in other way, so a short list of things to do

I was in a need to convert video files, I'm a big fan of DOpus (since I had my Amiga 1200 10 years ago, using there opus 4 and Magellan II) and a user of Virtual Dub so I've chosen them for the job.

  1. Run Virtual Dub, set all the options of conversion (video and audio compression etc)
  2. Use "Save conversion settings" from file menu, give a filename, for example save2avi.vcf in VirtualDub directory
  3. Add a new user command to your DOpus "Customization" (sorry, I got Polish version, I don't remember english names ) as a ms-dos batch function:

cd "d:\virtualdub\" @firstfileonly vdub.exe /s save2avi.vcf /p {filepath$} {destpath$}{dlgstringS|New file name|{file|noext}_new.avi} /r /x pause

  1. ofcourse you need to change some parameters, but as you can see vdub.exe is a program that invokes VirtualDub.exe with given options (save2avi.vcf - you can have multiple files for other operations, filters etc) and filenames.

I've done this in last hour including reading all the docs, so as far as I will update this (now it's working fine for me) I will post some new information.

Merry Christmas!

That's all.

…
Dziękuję za ten bardzo pomocny dla mnie post.
Miałem niegdyś do czynienia z DOpusem na AMIDZE 1200… T
Aktualnie często konwertuję np. domowe filmiki przechwycone z kamery analogowej. Otrzymuję początkowo MPEGi, a bardziej przydatny format AVI uzyskuję w wyniku dosyć powtarzalnych działań i wypróbowanych parametrów ustawień VirtualDub'a (zapoisanych naturalnie w pliku VCF). Jeszcze nie próbowałem konwertować filmów przenosząc sterowanie na DOpusa.
(Jeśli będę miał jakieś własne pomysły i doświadczenia - podzielę się nimi chętnie.)
Pozdrawiam, życzę powodzenia i dobrego roku 2010.

English only please.

Google Translate made this of it:

Thank you for this very helpful post for me.
I was once faced with DOpus on the Amiga 1200 ... T
Currently, for example, often converts home videos captured with the analog camera. Initially getting MPEGs and AVI format more useful in getting a result rather repetitive actions and tried setting the parameters VirtualDub'a (zapoisanych naturally in the VCF file). Have not yet tried to convert videos for transferring control DOpus.
(If I had some of his own ideas and experiences - will share with them willingly.)
Regards, good luck and a good 2010.
