Vista Transformation Pack - slight compatibility issue

I use XP Pro w/SP2, and last weekend installed the Vista Transformation Pack - gives a lot of the look & feel of Vista to my XP world. Thus far, have noticed only one issue. In the Preferences and Customize screens of Dopus 9 the screen formatting is quite weird, per the attachment.

I've looked through the forum which led me to try toggling WindowBlinds compatibility mode, no luck there.

If I toggle "Enable Windows XP/Vista Visual Styles" the problem goes away, however I lose the nice look in Opus that is given by the Vista Transformation Pack - becomes a very bland generic look.

I'm certain there are much greater priorities than this one, and it's not my desire for anybody to spend a lot of time on this, but does anyone have any ideas?

(Sorry to make you pull up a PDF, but unless I'm crazy it looked like I can only include the screenshots in my post if they can be referenced by a URL, and they only exist on my hard disk..pardon my ignorance)

Duh..after typing that I found that I did not have to use the PDF. A bit braindead today it seems..

Try turning off/on the WindowBlinds compatibility mode option.

As I said - tried that already. Thanks.

Ok you're right, it doesn't seem to help :frowning: I will have a look into this and see what I can find.

Don't waste your time Jon
the only solution is to change another skin.
i had the same issue so i searched for another vista skins on the web, i downloaded some themes and all work perfect now.

Gee thanks Graidia, here's hoping that whenever YOU have an issue with a piece of software that somebody else intervenes and tells the help resource not to bother. WTF? Clearly, since the board indicates you joined 10 days ago you are more of an expert than the folks at GPS.

I read a lot of posts on this board, and obviously the good folks at GPS are willing to interface with providers of other software to get incompatibilities resolved..so why don't you just shut up and allow this process to run its course?

For me to drop the issue and switch to something else is equivalent to throwing the baby out with the bathwater. That's not how progress is made.

Thanks, Jon, very much for your efforts. I, for one, appreciate them.

Dear RAMPAGE
maybe i 'm not expert( i use dopus since ver 7) but i'm polite man.
all i wanted to say that this issue is due to vista customization pack.

and thank u again

These custom-packs and windows blinds and clones are all hacks and not very compatible.

I've worked out that it's caused by the theme/skin using a "tab background texture" that is less than 32 pixels high. In the case of the default Vista skin that comes as part of the Vista Transformation Pack, the tab texture is only 9 pixels high.

This is a problem with Opus assuming the tab texture will always be over a certain size (the standard Luna/Aero texture is over 100 high I think), so we will get this fixed in the next version.

In the mean time, switching to any skin with a tab background texture > 32 high would fix the problem for you.

I see it mentioned 3rd or so time on the forums and I'm starting to think that I've missed out on something in my life

X.

It's amazing how many people say they've used version 7. So there's a number of possibilities:

  1. They're wrong.

  2. They stole a limited beta which was internally labelled 7.

  3. They're wrong.

i made a typing error its not possible?
i'm using dopus since version 6 and i'm not suppose to prove it cause it's not an outstanding thing!!!!!!

i'm very surprised in this forum, the first that made a little mistake is attacked wildly like a prey between piranhas.

try to be much cool guys

Attacked wildly?

Hardly!

It's called humour - hence the duplication of one of the reasons - tongue firmly in cheek. I had presumed that the readership here was beyond requiring a smiley to dictate humour, instead allowing context and content to determine it, it seems I'm wrong.
