Hi, is there a way of changing the default media player in Viewer Pane from WMP to VLC?
Only if VLC is available with an ActiveX or preview handler wrapper (which I don't think it is).
There is one although I have not looked into it in detail. I don't know if it would work with Opus's ActiveX plugin as-is, or if it would require some registry settings to associate it with the relevant file types, or if it would need custom code writing for it.
Hi, thanks for your reply but looks a little above my still level - so I'll just leave as is.
Is there any news on a solution for this? The Windows Media Player in the Viewer Pane is having issues playing large MKV files in newer codecs (HEVC / .265) without stuttering and does not support some audio codecs at all so no sound is playing.
No news, although a new movie plugin is on our to-do list. (Not sure when, though.)
WMP should still be able to play just about anything, in my experience. It sometimes takes updating the codecs/splitters involved.
