I'm sure we were able to convert from webp to png but that does not seem possible anymore so marking this as a bug
Can the image be viewed?
Are you sure it's really a .webp file?
Yes viewer shows the image - used imagemagik to convert it to avif then DO convert to PNG. Happened on 2 different webp images.
Can the viewer display the original webp images, or only after you converted them to avif? (Why is avif involved here?)
If you show them in the preview panel, what does it say in brackets next to the filename in the panel's title?

That shows it's displaying via Microsoft Edge, which probably means you've turned off the actual WebP plugin in Opus.
