I've been using DO long enough to still have a copy of the old "Source Preview Handler" v1.0.4.0 from SmartSoft Ltd, my archive of which is from 2012. That's a bit long in the tooth by now. It sort of works insofar as DO will use it when I've installed it, but it always stops working after a while for some unknown reason. I scoured the forums without much success, so I thought I'd ask: What is the current "best practice" for viewer pane syntax highlighting? Is there another plugin that works better? Are there other options these days? I love the DO built-in viewer, but I really miss having syntax highlighting when it stops working. Thanks.
Another option is the source code viewer that's part of PowerToys but, unless it has improved a lot in the last couple of years, I am not sure I can actually recommend it.
(In particular, it causes so much slowdown when viewing text files that we try to detect the viewer and disable it by default in the MetaPlugin's config.)
There may be other options that I haven't stumbled on, of course.
