Where to put DOpus9ReferenceManual.pdf?

Directions say Help MANUAL "displays the Directory Opus manual from the PDF file in the Opus program directory." I put DOpus9ReferenceManual.pdf in C:\Program Files\Opus9\ but that didn't work. Also tried C:\Program Files\Opus9\Help\ but that didn't work either. Where do I put the .pdf file?

You can put it anywhere & make a button for it. GO "C:\Program Files\Opus9\Help\Manual.pdf" would open it either by click on that button or a hotkey.

Do note that there is no difference between the PDF manual and the Help file in the program which you can view by pressing F1. They are created from the same document. The only difference is the format.

If the idea is to keep it wherever you like, among a set of PDF manuals for example, then you will have to edit the Menu "button" that points to the location of the PDF file.

Just in case you haven't got even that far with DOpus, right click in the toolbar or menu areas to get to "Customize," navigate to that "Help > Reference Manual" entry, right click and go into Edit.

Then just paste the file's location into "Function" slot.

All this may be very obvious to you, in which case, apologies.

As you've been told, the PDF files is just "Help" in a new format. But if you are like me you prefer PDF files because they are easier to search and because you can index them with desktop search software. (I use X1.)

Be warned, though, that at one time, thanks to the way in which Acrobat likes to work the the PDF file was "edit protected" to such an extent that you could not add your own bookmarks and notes. This removes a big advantage of PDF files.

This wasn't GPS being awkward, but Adobe being incompetent. (I hit the same issue with someone else recently.) If this feature is important to you, maybe you could get hold of an "Access Open" pdf file.

An update on this. I said:

I went to check the current PDF file. It no longer suffers from this restriction. The guys who built the manual clearly worked out how to tell Acrobat to behave itself.

If you have an old security restricted manual, and you want to be able to annotate the PDF file, get the newest version.
