Where to start making a button that deletes all of a specified type below the current folder

I've never made a Button before but would like to create one that would delete all *.tmp files below the active folder. To be honest I've looked a the buttons example but still don't know where to start.

Any help would be appreciated.

An easy start would be a button like

Delete *.tmp
