Windows Media Player plays songs out of order

If I select a bunch of songs and right-click and select Play... with Windows Media Player default for music files... all the songs will get added in order, except for one (seemingly random) song which gets put first.

Is that an Opus bug or a bug in the media player?

What happens in File Explorer?

Is the first file the one you right-clicked, or the one first or last one selected, or the one which had focus?

Ahhh.. you're clever....

From File Explorer, they all appear in seemingly random order.

But, you're right re DOpus... the one I right click on is the one that is first. Is there a modifier to prevent that?

Not currently, at least when launching something directly from a context menu (without adding a script or something as a go-between).

Better music players will sort the incoming file list themselves, in my experience (since Explorer and File Open dialogs used to list things in random orders, and sometimes still do it seems).
