Wrong version is opening

Got a small issue I just can't seem to find. Under Vista Ultimate I had 9.0.0.7 installed in E:/Directory Opus. I also put a shortcut on my Start Menu for this right at the top with that path.
When 9.0.0.8 came out I installed that and thought it was working until today when it told me a new version was out. I had a look only to find 9.0.0.8 still the latest. I normally start DOpus by double clicking on the desktop and it comes up. However when I do this and check the version in the help it says 9.0.0.7. If I start it from the Start Menu then about returns 9.0.0.8. If I now exit DOpus and again double click on the desktop it comes up with the proper version.
However if I reboot and double click again I get the 9.0.0.7 version.

So just where is this extra version hiding on the system and how do I get rid of it?

Okay found the issue finally (Always happens just after you post).
Turns out there was another copy on the C: drive buried deep in the folders. When I did the update I must have changed the directory or something. Should it not default to where it is installed already? Or maybe remove the old version first if you change paths?

The installer does default to the current installed path.

I must have changed it then for some reason or the other. Can't think why though as I stick all my apps in E:
Must have been a bad hair day.

Actually, I reckon that an installed should not give a user any choice at all! One should be forbidden to change the installed path and be forced to use the 'Bill-Given' path and that's it. Would solve a lot of problems:)

You can then put your data / documents wherever you like but programs should be Bill-Installed:)

But I don't Like Bill.

If life's too short to stuff a mushroom, then it's far too short to move installed programs from where they are meant to be.

Bill and I don't get on much. He has his way and I have mine.

At the risk of inserting some useful information into this thread, the current Opus install path should be defined by the two registry values here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\DOpus.exe

Of course there are lots of other places that the Opus path may appear in the registry (e.g. in the standard Run key if it's set to launch on startup, and in various file types). The key above is the proper way to find the Opus install path, though, and I believe it is what the installer checks.
