[ZIP] Copy As doesn't work

Greetings, I've finally upgraded from Opus 11 to 12 after sitting on the fence for a year.

I've just noticed a very puzzling issue with the Copy As (copy/rename) function in Zip archives. When selecting a couple of files and clicking Copy As, all files are automatically given the name of the first file in the selection, whichever name I give them individually. Obviously they end up replacing each other, and ultimately only one file is actually copied in the destination folder.

This strange behaviour only happens with the built-in Zip format. I tried other archives in 7Zip, RAR, LHA without any problem at all.

My installation is completely fresh, using the default dual lister configuration (no previous Opus config was imported).

For info, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you copying out of Flat View (or a collection like Find Results) where the files aren't all from the same source folder within the zip? That sounds like an issue which was reported very recently and is on our list.

If all the files are from the same place within the zip, it's not something I've been able to reproduce from a quick try. If that is the case, could you tell us exactly what you're entering into the Copy As dialogs?

Hi Leo,

I just double-click on a Zip archive in the Power view, but the bug also happens in Details. I didn't try from the Find Results mode.

In the Zip demo, you can see that the three files of the archive are actually copied, but for each file Opus 12 always defaults to the filename of the first file in the selection, which is very confusing.

In truth, I don't know if this bug is specific to Opus 12 or if it occurred before (I stopped updating my Opus 11 setup long before the last 11.19 version). Maybe it's something specific to my system, but why would it happen with the built-in Zip feature and not the archive plugins?

Thanks for the video! I can reproduce that now.

It is not that it is naming all the files the same, but that it is prompting with the same name for all the files. I was typing over the names in the prompt so I got the right results, but if you add "_new" to the end of each name when prompted, they'll all end up with the same name since the prompt had the same name for every file.

Definitely a bug. We will put it on the list to get fixed.

Zip and other archives are handled by completely different code (Zip is internal to Opus; everything else is handled by the Archives plugin) which is why the problem affects Zip but none of the other archive types.

Thanks for the report, this will be fixed in the next update.

Thanks Leo & Jon, as far as I can tell the 12.6.1 beta release fixed the issue.
