Zip file integration can't be disabled

I can't get DOpus to stop handling Zip files internally. I want them to be handled by external 7zip application when I double click, but DOpus still insists upon opening them internally, even after changing the preference settings.

What am I doing wrong? I've applied, restarted the app, and also rebooted the machine repeatedly to no avail. Is there some other setting? I'm running version 9.5.0.0.3565 x86 (and can't update versions b/c I'm not an admin on my machine so can't install software).

I've changed the settings after searching for "ZIP" in the settings menu:

and also on this sub screen:

FYI - I also have the file association setup for windows to handle zip files with 7Zip too, but Directory Opus still seems to override it.

What happens when you double-click a zip file?

With the 'Activate Opus ZIP file handling' disabled, all of the Opus internal zip features are indeed turned off.

It drills into the zip file within Directory Opus as if it was a normal folder.

If you edit the Zip filetype, what is set for the dblclk action?

What VFS plugins do you have installed?

All the events on the events tab are "" and there's nothing on either of the 2 menu tabs.

VFS plugins:

I give up then sorry - what you describe is impossible.

Well - maybe odd, but definitely not "impossible". It's been bugging me for weeks!

I just tried changing the "left double-click event" to be the same as the "open action" - "C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7zFM.exe" "%1" and now it functions as I would expect. It still doesn't explain why turning off the integration didn't really disable the integration, but at least it works right and opens the archive in 7Zip and not within Directory Opus.

If anyone cares, here's what I changed to get it working properly:

BTW, thanks for all the quick help jon. You definitely helped me get a workaround!

Maybe some messed up settings in registry?
