when copying/moving *.mkv files, either half of the icons are missing
or are not present. They are only displayed completely after pressing F5.
Info:
DOpus as of 13.13.1
Dopus 13.13 worked perfectly.
Work steps:
duallister
left side:
a folder with 10-12 directories, one file per directory.
as only the content is required, display as flatview “mixed (no folders)”
right side:
new folder with a subfolder.
the files are now either copied or moved to the subfolder using drag&drop. (from left to right)
the icons are now missing, in my case the VLC icon, either partially or completely.
(only empty standard icon)
the files are on the same drive (m.2 on motherboard)
these are moved from the old directory (with many subfolders)
to the new one with one subfolder.
the size of the files is currently between 1.3gb and 1.7gb per file
windows 10 current status
the icons are displayed directly.
is a problem since 13.13.1
nothing has been changed in the system. (no updates or installations)
only 13.13 was updated to 13.13.1.
before that the same activities were done = worked
after the update this was noticed immediately.
therefore first waited for 13.13.2 to see if this also occurs there = confirmed
I also wonder if VLC is using a shell extension to define icons, as otherwise the icon would be based completely on the file extension and it shouldn't matter if the file is being copied / in-use or not.
(OTOH, a shell extension might try to open the file to decide which icon to give it, e.g. if VLC wanted to give files with DTS audio a slightly different icon, or something like that, and that might fail if the destination file blocks being opened before the copy is finished.)
Preferences / Miscellaneous / Shell Extensions, under the Icon and Icon Overlay categories should indicate the relevant shell extensions on the system.
it does not matter whether d&d, symbol in standard/own bar is used when copying/moving.
the current vlc 3.0.21 is used as a portable version.
the settings mentioned are apparently all windows standard!
