While testing Video & audio plugin: separate video config from audio - #8 by Leo another issue I've discovered with audio mp3 (for example, MP3 44100Hz stereo 128kbps LAME3.92, but don't think it's codec-relevant since it also happens with WAV)/wav files - is that sometimes when turning the panel OFF (only mediaengine/sessions playback methods are toggled on; autoplay for audio is on) there is a few seconds (sometimes ~10sec!) of delay/hang before the lister reacts to my arrow keys to switch files. Although key input is not dropped, just buffered, so it does those changes in file selection after the hang ends
The easiest way to trigger (happens almost every time) is to select an mp3 and then immediately press the button twice to turn the panel on and off
But if you press a button to toggle the panel on, wait 0.5 sec, then press it again, it's mostly fine.
This also happens on file switching, though harder to time: if you switch to another audio file and toggle it off right ~at the start of playback or thereabout (there is no sound from the new file, so playback hasn't started yet, and the UI hasn't switched yet to display the controls for the new file), then it hangs again.
Happens with video files as well (without an audio track)
