version 19 could not install. Upon reboot could not find exe.
Version 18 crashes often.

We've fixed some issues in the new installer. Please try re-downloading it and let us know if you still have problems.
Downloaded V 12.20. ERROR moving file. Could not install. Now cannot run at all.
Bad news.
Tried installing version 12:16, same error ACCESS DENIED (0x5).
Now, I have no Opus at all.
Can't find my registration, I want to uninstall everything and start from scratch. Could you send me my registration, or where is it in Gmail. I typed DOPUS in Gmail and it's not there, but I know you sent it.
Try searching gmail for "Opus" only.
Also, do you recommend uninstalling, then trying all over again?
GP Software and DOPUS are not in the program list, so I cannot uninstall!
I went to C: program files/dopus. Clicking on dopus.exe triggers "cannot accese the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
Clicking on dopusrt.exe = The program can't start because dopuslib.dll is missing - try reinstalling
When trying to install 12.20 again: C:\Program Files\GPSoftware\Directory Opus\dopus.exe - An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveVile failed; code 183. Cannot create a file when that file already exists.
Unable to change permissions when selecting my user name: Administrators (MCTowson-PC\Administrators) and Owner (MCTowson-PC\Owner)
Will never upgrade again. Things were working fine.

Use Explorer to go to C:\Program Files, find the GPSoftware folder, and try renaming it to something else. If that works, try installing 12.20 again. If renaming fails, reboot your system and then try the rename again.
Thanks - I SHOULD have waited for your advice. But in the meantime I had the "BRIGHT" (LOL) idea to install Opus into GPSoftware\DOPUS, and since there were no files to move or rename it installed. Did I screw things up, or should I just leave things as is? Version 12.20 is now up and running..... Still, the old malfunctioning one, in the default folder is still there....Michael
It shouldn't really hurt where it's run from. Maybe see if it will let you delete the old folder (possibly after a reboot).

Can't launch another instance of Opus. Says "dopuslib.dll" is missing, but I see it.

Copied from new folder to old folder (that couldn't be renamed); works. Question: It seems the old folder is still active. Which files from the new installation should be copied into the old folder? Thanks
You shouldn't need to copy anything by hand.
At this stage, I would try uninstalling again, reboot, then delete any GPSoftware / Directory Opus folders still under Program Files. Then download the latest installer and install to the default location.
Rebooted. Uninstall fails with Runtine error at 51/37, could not call proc
Cannot delete; Says a file or folder is open. I went CTRL ALT DEL and ended dopus.exe. Same situation. Are there other files in memory to delete?
