DarkThumbs adds thumbnail preview to Windows Explorer for EPUB, FB2, DJVU and Kindle ebooks; 7Z, CB7, CBZ, CBR, RAR and ZIP archives.

Providing it as an alternative to this. An app I found on this forum here, mainly for two reasons: first being that you needed a Microsoft Account. No way. Second reason was some comments at the download page from users.

Oh, and Free & Open source books like this one can be downloaded from here. They respect IP and only publish books in the public domain.

But where there is/was a need for Microsoft Account?
I see that in first post of thread on Mobile Read forum [Announcing: MobiHandler (a Windows program)] there is a link that resolves to https://www.office.com/ , but Microsoft Account was never needed to download the program (when the link was working properly) and currently it will not help too.
