Display Full Filenames

I am trying to find out if there is a way to see full file names when I am in a folder with images?
I did a search and the earlier thread asked me to change the Visual Style in preferences but I don't see that option with my version of Opus?

Thank you for your help.

The thread you found probably meant the setting below.

Putting the filename (i.e. {name}) into the infotip is another way to get the full name to be visible in thumbnails mode, for long names.

Hi, Leo:

Could you please tell me how to make DO always display full file/folder names, that is, without suspension dots ( ... ) when these names are (rather) long, and not only when hovering the mouse pointer over one of them?

Thanks in advance for your support.

In details mode? Just set the column width to auto-size.

Thanks.

No. In simple list mode.

List mode works the same. Set the size of the Name column to Auto.

PS: Please link your account as well!

Thanks again.

OK, but I couldn't find the exact place on the GUI for doing this "auto-sizing Name column" stuff, not even after typing "auto-size, auto-sizing" into the related field in "Preferences". That is, i couldn't find this specific auto-sizing option.

OK also about linking my account. Done. Sorry.

It's part of folder formats. There's a video all about column resizing linked at the bottom of here, if you need it: Folder Formats: Quick Guide

Thanks, Leo.

With your support, I got the program config set the way I wanted.

Regards.

PS: Just a suggestion for DOpus further improvement: you devs should give some thought to making it possible for users to create folder aliases for showing two folders, each one of them in opposite folder panels, directly on the Folder Aliases pane in Preferences, just as, in a way, is possible to do in XYplorer. This would be much handier and surely users would enjoy using DOpus eve more.

You can use tab groups for that, as well as commands which you run the same way as aliases, or do it via buttons, or hotkeys, or various other ways. You can already do that.

Please stick to one topic per thread. I think we have already hijacked this 6 year old thread enough, since it was originally about showing full names in thumbnails mode.

Hi,

Thanks for this additional piece of support. I'll try these, guessing that, as to tab groups, maybe it's possible to assign command aliases to them. Hotkeys are great for opening pairs of opposite tabs, but problem is I have lots of global hotkey combos assigned to other file operations on a hotkey manager here. So I am left with few options available for using them the way you suggested, which of course, by the way, is an alternative I already knew about.

Regarding one topic per thread: OK, I'll do as required from now on. Sorry.

Regards.
