In Directory Opus 12 it was possible to display the drive name in the drive bar in the Tool tips. How does this work in V13?
Add labels
like so:
Go DRIVEBUTTONS=labels
For a novice like me, how to add a label? (cannot find any info I can follow in the manual) - a step by step guide would be great. Love to try the above. Thanks
Tried the above from 'Customise Toolbar & Keys' - copied exactly as above. Did not work. For a newbie I really need clearer step by step advise how to proceed. Would like to try the above. Can you explain further please?
Best place to start:
Thanks for that. Will certainly try again. The first place I looked was the manual which for me was very hard to understand...sorry.
Have a look.
Excellent - thank you, did it!
The tooltip shown by toolbar drivebuttons is generated by Windows and can't be changed.
AFAIK Opus 12 was the same. Windows itself may have changed over the years.
(The similar tooltip for drives in This PC can be changed, via Settings > File Types. But that isn't what the toolbar buttons use, unfortunately.)
Lxp's suggestion to add labels
to the drive buttons command will get you the labels on the buttons themselves, so they're always visible. (Won't affect the tooltips.)
It will a bit.

Oh! That was news to me.
lettersbeforelabels seems to have the same effect in addition to labels
Thank you for your help. It now works the way I wanted it to. Thank you very much.
