File Collections - Am I Using This Right?

Hello,

I'm looking for a solution to create what I'd call virtual folders - a folder that I can assign other folders into. A collection of folders to easily access items I commonly need that are in different locations.

Is this the purpose of "File Collections"? I cant seem to figure out how to add a folder to my collection.

That's one thing you can do with collections, yes.

You can add a folder to a collection by dragging the older into the collection.

To create a new collection, go to the Collections folder and then use the normal Create Folder button.

got it, i was sorta afraid I would be moving the folder to some unknown location.

is there any plans to add a context menu (right click) for add to collection > collection name ?

Check Preferences / Miscellaneous / Windows Integration / Add File Collections list to the Send To menu or use

 Copy COLLLIST

Copy COLLLIST

awesome thanks, one last question if I may

is there a way to backup opus customizations so that if I update or move PC's I dont have to recreate everything?

Note, that you got to be careful when deleting items from collections.
Using Delete Removecollection should be safe, so maybe you need to modify your delete commands.

how does one delete the collection construct, but keep all underlying data?

Just select the collection itself and delete it.

No need to crosspost new issues into other threads. That just makes a mess of the forum/thread.
