%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\GPSoftware\Directory Opus
;
Doesn't seem to work。
It should. Press OK and restart the program to see it (as per step 5).
If Opus is pinned, try unpinning and re-pinning it. It looks like the Taskbar is using a very old icon which it has probably cached.
(Only the 256x256 size has the spikes on it these days, and the Taskbar would only show that at ridiculously large DPI scaling factors, or above 200% at least.)
Oh whoops, it's the same exact icon and selection indeed, the different version embedded within.
So then the only way seems to use the 64x64 version separately, which may lead to a lower quality outcome on the taskbar:
Alternatively, there is this one I made.
Either would need to be reselected upon each update.
I tried your method, but it didn't work. Then I tried to rebuild the icon cache according to LEO's explanation, and it worked! Thanks!
I think it may be the reason for my laptop. Its 2K resolution screen uses 200% DPI. When I connect it to my external monitor, it rebuilds the cache normally.
